Jeff Bridger has been in private practice since 1987 and joined the firm in 2006. The focus of his practice is maritime defense litigation, energy matters, insurance coverage, and coverage litigation. He also has significant experience in subrogation matters, employment litigation, and drafting vessel charter parties and other maritime contracts.
Mr. Bridger has handled numerous cases through trial and appeal in several areas of law. These include insurance coverage matters involving complex technology issues, defense of marine and energy companies, particularly vessel owners and geophysical contractors, and employer liability matters, including EEOC proceedings. Mr. Bridger was the primary brief writer for the McDermott interests in the seminal United States Supreme Court maritime case McDermott, Inc. v. AmClyde, 511 U.S. 202, 114 S.Ct. 1461, 128 L.Ed.2d 148 (1994), and he participated in the preparation and presentation of successful oral arguments in that case.
Mr. Bridger graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1980. He then graduated from Tulane University Law School in 1982. Prior to entering private practice in 1987, he spent several years as an Assistant District Attorney in New Orleans, primarily in the felony trial and appellate divisions.
