Rebecca Cooper began
practicing law in 1994 and joined the firm in 2011. Her practice is
concentrated in the areas of insurance coverage and coverage
litigation involving both first-party and third-party insurance,
including marine insurance. She has significant experience in the
areas of maritime law, energy matters, and environmental and toxic
torts.
Ms. Cooper has handled
many insurance coverage cases involving oilfield remediation and
other pollution matters, including large scale environmental
contamination. She has also handled numerous third-party cases
involving auto insurance, hunting club risks, directors and officers
issues, health hazard claims, bad faith allegations, and builder's
risk coverage, as well as first-party cases involving property and
business interruption losses of both large and small businesses.
She has significant experience advising clients on claim handling
issues.
Ms. Cooper graduated
from Louisiana State University in 1990. In 1994, she graduated
cum laude from Tulane University Law School. At Tulane, she
earned a Certificate of Specialization in Admiralty and Maritime Law
and received the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellence in the
Study of Louisiana Torts.
