Dan Picou is a founding partner of the firm. For over twenty-five years, he has focused his practice on insurance coverage and litigation involving marine, non-marine, energy, property, and pollution losses. He represents the interests of insurers in large and complex claims and litigation throughout the United States and its territories. He assists clients in drafting policies and endorsements. He advises clients on claim handling issues, and he speaks on insurance matters.
Mr. Picou has handled marine, non-marine, and onshore and offshore energy losses involving personal injury and death, property damage, pollution, and economic loss. He has also handled numerous first-party and third-party cases involving large property and business interruption claims. He has significant experience in class action and complex litigation.
Mr. Picou graduated from Tulane University in 1978 and Tulane University Law School in 1981. He then served as a law clerk for the Honorable Patrick Schott of the Louisiana Court of Appeal for the Fourth Circuit before beginning his law practice.
