FIRM OVERVIEW

Larzelere Picou Wells Simpson Lonero, LLC was founded in 1988 as primarily an admiralty, maritime, and energy law firm with an initial focus on defense and insurance coverage matters. From this core foundation, the firm has since expanded its focus into other practice areas involving insurance coverage and defense litigation. Our main practice areas include:

The firm represents a diverse range of clients including U.S. insurance companies, international insurance companies and underwriters, and private businesses including vessel and barge operators, oilfield production and service contractors, trucking companies, and premises owners. We pride ourselves on always striving to provide our clients with the personal attention and dedication required to achieve favorable results, and we are always mindful of our goal to do so efficiently and economically.

Our clients engage us to handle disputes, claims, and litigation, including complex and multi-party matters, throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South. While the majority of our practice concentrates on Louisiana, at any given time, we are involved in matters centered in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Additionally, our clients trust us to handle cases throughout the United States, its territories, and Central America. Our cases outside of Louisiana usually involve complex issues and significant exposure, where we either serve as lead counsel or supervise and monitor local counsel on behalf of our clients. Although we attempt to resolve claims through negotiation, mediation, and other methods of alternative dispute resolution where appropriate, not all claims can be resolved reasonably. When litigation is necessary and cannot be resolved amicably, we defend our clients vigorously through trial and the appellate process.
